Play On Theatre Company is here to provide experienced and thought provoking productions. We here at Play On truly believe in the theatre’s ability to affect change. It is our fervent hope that everyone who sits in our audience will leave changed for the better, even if it means they are a little happier than when they walked in.

About Us

Executive Director

Lexie Walker was born and raised in Marksville, LA. Lexie attended Louisiana State University for her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication Disorders, then completed her Master of Arts from Louisiana College. She is the Regional Coordinator at The Louisiana Special Education Center in Alexandria. She has been involved as a participant and supporter of local theatre since she was a child. Lexie has served as Board President at The Fox Theatre for 10 years. Some of her local theatre credits include Oliver!, Godspell, Meet Me in St. Louis, Steel Magnolias, Decades and Annie The Musical at The Fox Theatre, and Tribes at City Park Players. She is the Co-Director of the LSEC Christmas Program.

Artistic Director

Kody Walker has spent many years working in theatre across the United States. He returned to his home in Central Louisiana in 2017. His professional and local credits include Directing: Little Women, To Kill A Mockingbird, A Christmas Carol, Greater Tuna, Tuna Christmas, & RED with Play On Theatre; Tuck Everlasting, Oliver!, Annie The Musical, Alice in Wonderland Jr, Mary Poppins Jr, & Frozen Jr at The Fox Theatre; Some of his favorite professional acting credits include Macbeth (Lennox-Angus) at Chicago Shakespeare Theatre; Hamlet (Marcellus) & A Midsummer Night’s Dream(Oberon) at Notre Dame Shakespeare Festival; Henry V (Dauphine, Fluellen) and The Recruiting Officer (Brazen) with Montana Shakespeare in the Parks; Explorers Club (Percy) at Windy City Playhouse; A Christmas Carol (Marley) at The Palace Theatre; and Pride and Prejudice (Darcy) at Oklahoma Shakespeare in the Parks. Kody received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting from Oklahoma City University.

Audio & Visual Director

Chris McDowell has been acting on stage in the Central Louisiana area since 2008. He is a graduate of Louisiana College with degrees in Theatre and Psychology. He has participated in many productions some of his credits include Directing: Murder on the Orient Express. Performing: Much Ado About Nothing (Claudio), Greater Tuna (Arles etc.), A Christmas Carol (Young Scrooge), Godspell (Judas), The Diary of Anne Frank (Mr. Dussell), The Wizard of Oz (Scarecrow), Peter Pan (Smee), and The Mousetrap (Christopher Wren). He is currently the co-host of Scene Partners Podcast with Play On Theatre Company’s very own Kody Walker.

Scenic Designer/Painter

A Central Louisiana Native, Aubrey has been involved in the arts since the late 1990s. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree with a focus in ceramics and painting from Louisiana College. Aubrey has multiple landscape paintings in several collections, with his favorite being the two landscape paintings currently hanging at Rapides Regional Hospital. He currently lives at Rapides Regional Hospital. He currently works as the Creative Director of River Oaks Square Arts Studio and Camp Director of Summer Arts Studio in Alexandria, Louisiana. He is also serving on the Board of Directors of the Arts Council Louisiana. Aubrey became involved with theatre when his daughters, Jenevieve and Lorelei, started performing with local theatre companies when they were young. Since then, he has become a scenic artist and set designer for local high schools and theatre companies. Some of his more notable sets include Anastasia *Bolton Conservatory, and You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown *Bolton Conservatory.
